Six Things That Matter When Choosing a Pension Solicitor

These are the qualities our clients tell us they value most — and what we have built our practice around.

Focused Expertise

Pension law is all we do. That focus builds a depth of practical knowledge that a generalist firm rarely matches.

Plain Language

Every letter, summary, and update is written so you understand it — not so you feel the need to hire someone to read it for you.

Transparent Pricing

Fixed fees for each service scope. No surprises, no hourly charges that mount without warning. You know the cost before work begins.

Your Pace

We follow the timeline you are comfortable with. No pressure to decide quickly or move faster than you feel ready for.

Written Summaries

You leave every important meeting or decision point with a written record in plain terms — yours to keep and refer back to.

Local Knowledge

We know Thai pension authorities, their processes, and how they communicate. That familiarity saves time and reduces frustration.

Focused Professional Expertise

Many legal offices list pension matters as one area among many. At Mongkol Law, it is the only area. Since 2011, every client matter we have handled has involved a pension — whether a review, a query, or a formal appeal. That concentration creates a depth of knowledge that a broader practice simply does not accumulate.

  • Fourteen years of pension-specific legal practice in Thailand
  • Experience across Social Security Fund, provident fund, and government pension matters
  • Solicitors registered with the Lawyers Council of Thailand
  • Ongoing professional development in pension regulation changes
"The difference between a generalist who occasionally handles pensions and a firm that does only pensions is considerable — particularly when a matter becomes complicated and the details matter."

— Mongkol Law Practice Principle

How a Typical Matter Progresses

  1. 01
First MeetingWe review your documents together and explain your position in plain terms.
  2. 02
Written SummaryYou receive a clear written account of what we found and what options exist.
  3. 03
Your DecisionYou decide whether and how to proceed. No pressure, no expectation.
  4. 04
Active ManagementIf you proceed, we manage the matter and keep you updated at every step.
  5. 05
Closing ReportThe matter closes with a full written account of what was done and achieved.

A Clear, Considered Process

We follow a consistent process on every matter — not because it is convenient for us, but because it keeps you informed and in control at each step. Nothing moves forward without your understanding and agreement.

Each stage produces a written record. Nothing discussed verbally disappears — it becomes part of the file and part of what you take away.

Personal Care as a Practice Standard

We keep the team small deliberately. That means the solicitor you meet on day one is the same person managing your matter throughout. You do not get passed between staff or receive form letters written by someone who has not read your file.

  • Consistent point of contact throughout
  • Updates reported in plain language, not legal shorthand
  • Questions answered thoughtfully, not dismissed
  • Discretion and confidentiality as standard

Transparent, Fixed-Scope Pricing

Each of our three services has a defined scope and a stated price. You know exactly what is included before any work begins. If the scope of a matter changes meaningfully, we discuss that with you before any additional cost arises — not after.

What Sets Us Apart

Distinctive Aspects of Our Practice

The "What to Expect" First Visit Card

Every new client receives a short card before their first visit that explains what will happen, what to bring, and what to expect. No one should arrive at a legal office feeling uninformed about the process.

Plain-Language File Notes

Our file notes are written to be readable by the client, not only by lawyers. You may request a copy of your file notes at any point — and we encourage it.

Saturday Morning Availability

We understand that many clients work during the week. Our office is available on Saturday mornings from 9:00 to 13:00 so that a working week need not prevent you from getting help.

No Commitment at the First Step

The Welcome Pension Review exists precisely so that you can find out where things stand before deciding whether to proceed. We will never use a first meeting to pressure you toward a larger commitment.
